Description:Job Title: Partner Account ManagerJob Category: Game Design Product: Xbox Date Posted: 08/13/2008 Job Code: 234103 Location: WA - Redmond Travel Required: XBLA is looking for a First Party Publishing ("1PP") Account Manager who will be our "point person," and key liaison into the console games industry. He or she will work directly with third-party developers to license content and build or strengthen relationships and should be outgoing, well versed in game development practices and trends, and enjoy playing and talking about games. The 1PP Account Manager must be able to interact comfortably with both technical people and executives, and be able to thrive in an environment that requires deep cross-departmental collaboration. He or she must be able to communicate XBLA goals, and will be responsible for pursuing areas of business development as directed by the XBLA team. The 1PP Account Manager will serve as a point of contact for 3PP with respect to business and contractual issues, and will provide guidance and any required support for 1PP titles in development, and intellectual property. The 1PP Account Manager will work closely with internal Producers to closely monitor title progress, help identify and address areas for developer support including helping to coordinate game evaluation meetings, engage in required R&D and developer due diligence efforts. He or she will participate in the design, development and implementation of on-going policies and procedures for servicing 1PP developers, and will contribute in strategic planning efforts and setting objectives for the developer support and 1PP teams. The 1PP Account Manager will field business relationship and contractual issues and propose constructive resolutions. In addition, he or she will work closely with the XBLA legal and financial staff to manage agreements governing business relationships with developers in areas including intellectual property, licensed trademarks, restrictions of trade and unfair business practices, product liability, and royalty payments and general contract oversight. Qualifications Required Minimum 10 years relevant game industry business development and game licensing and/or account management experience. MBA a plus. Excellent communication and influencing/negotiating skills Strong technical knowledge of current console platforms and services Ability to think strategically and execute on prioritize tasks Ability to plan and implement sound business strategies Excellent knowledge of the console industry and development landscape Good knowledge of modern development methodologies Direct experience as a Producer or senior designer on multiple published (shipped) game titles
