Xbox Marketplace Producers will work with North American, and possibly some international, Xbox developers to review and assess content in the pipeline, and then work closely with developers to help them optimize and deliver high-quality digitally distributed games selected for the Xbox Live service.
Through the process of working with our developer/partners, the Lead Producer will build relationships within the development community, and ultimately help drive new game submissions into our funnel. The Lead Producer will be expected to be well versed in game development processes and trends, and enjoy occasional travel to visit game developers or represent XLA at select industry events. He or She will be expected to work effectively at the technical and executive level, and will be instrumental in understanding our interest in the content, and the needs of each developer to ensure that our biz dev teams structure the right deal for XLA and each partner.
The Lead Producer must be able to effectively communicate all Xbox goals, monitor title progress, identify and address needed areas for developer technical support including game evaluation, R&D, implementation of new technology and features. The goal will be to raise the quality bar for all 2nd party titles while providing the required amount and types of content required to drive the business.
Qualifications
Good high-level technical knowledge
Ability to think strategically and prioritize tasks
Excellent knowledge of the console industry and development landscape
Good knowledge of modern development methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent knowledge of Xbox policies and procedures
Be proficient at tracking development efforts to keep product development on schedule and within budget (as required depending on business terms)
Broker a common understanding and agreement on the project scope and objectives and on any subsequent changes
Maintain and enhance creative relationships with outside developers
Reviewing and evaluating competitive products
Light travel
Maintaining and helping to improve necessary processes and procedures for product submissions while coordinating with other Xbox business units to ensure that company-wide policies are adhered to.
