Description:Sales EngineerAs a Sales Engineer you will be expected to quickly come up to speed on company products, as well as understand how the software can be deployed across networks and utilizing different types of devices - including laptops, tablets, handhelds - that are Microsoft Windows based. Your in-depth knowledge of networking, security, firewalls and operating systems will help you to effectively position products, while helping to solve difficult technical problems for potential customers during pre-sales presentations, demonstrations and evaluations. You will be the technical evangelist for software in your region, representing the company not just with potential customers but also at partner and reseller trainings, events and trade shows as necessary. Responsibilities: -Partner with the Territory Sales Manager and Inside Sales Executive to establish strategy for sales, technical direction and lead generation for the territory. -Deliver technical sales presentations to prospective customers to ensure appropriate fit with company products. -Provide training and technical support to customers/prospects as well as channel and marketing partners. -Install, configure and provide technical support to prospective customers who are evaluating company products. -Consult with prospective and existing customers regarding appropriate third-party products. -Funnel feature requests and product ideas into product management. Assist product management in the developing priorities for the company's product roadmap. -When necessary, assist the technical support team resolve post-sale customer issues. -Document prospect evaluation status in Salesforce.com. Qualifications: While this is a pre-sales position, our product requires an in-depth understanding of software and network engineering. You will need 5+ years of software sales engineering experience working with large enterprise accounts to excel in this role. Because of the complexity of the product, you must have a strong foundation in network design, configuration and troubleshooting - current relevant vendor certification is desirable. You will be able to leverage your past experience working hands-on installing, configuring and trouble-shooting complex network and/or security environments, resulting in a strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing and firewalls to understand potential customer environments. You will be able to really hit the ground running if you have a strong security background, particularly with VPN/firewall products and/or services. It would be very beneficial if you already have your CISSP or other security certification as well as experience working with wireless networking, wireless security and/or wireless management products. With your role you must be able to communicate technical concepts to all levels of people, from IT managers to CEO's. You must be able to effectively communicate with and present technical topics to networking and security groups within large IT organizations. Experience working in verticals such as insurance, utilities, healthcare, telecommunications or other verticals with a large number of mobile field workers is desirable. Use and training in SPIN selling, or similar, is very desirable. From an office skills perspective, you'll need to really be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio and other related software programs. You will also need to have some experience working with a CRM and tracking key information on customers and potential customers.
