Description:System Administrator Responsibilities: -Install, configure, and administer systems in a primarily windows environment. -Maintain and monitor all Windows and Linux/Unix systems to ensure the highest level of system availability. -Diagnose and resolve user problems with application software and operating systems, tools and utilities. -Troubleshoot and repair any issue that may arise in the company's information systems. -Maintain the company's wired and wireless networks; including Cisco firewalls, routers and switches. -Setup and troubleshoot IPsec VPN connections between remote sites and partner networks. -Assist in capacity planning and system design for all server and network systems. -Provide daily end-user support for desktop/laptop operations utilizing a variety of Operating systems. -Support Polycom video conferencing system. -Ensure the availability and health of all office technology equipment including desktops, laptops, printers, and projectors. -Provide superior customer service to internal employees and external partners. -Maintain all system and data back ups. -Be able to work day shift or swing shift and rotating on call support to a 7X24 operation. -Administration of anti-malware systems and removal of malware from infected systems. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: -Strong, hands-on experience with MS Windows operating systems both XP and 2003 server. -Proven shrink-wrapped software and custom application troubleshooting and support skills. -Ability to continue to grow and learn new technologies and add more depth of knowledge to current skill set. -Prior experience working with helpdesk software and ticketing systems. -Knowledge of TCP/IP Internetworking, E-Mail and DNS. -Must have hands on experience with Microsoft Exchange Server. -Strong troubleshooting skills using both proactive and reactive methodologies on a daily-basis to provide a high level of system availability. -Self-motivated, with the ability to adequately communicate (orally/written) solutions to IT management rather than only present problems. -Highly goal oriented providing excellent results with little oversight and direction. -A good understanding of WAN environments a plus. -Hands on SAN and or NAS experience a plus. -Routing / switching configuration and troubleshooting experience a plus. -Hands on experience with configuration and installation of MS SQL 2005 a plus. -Maintain data security for critical company data. -A.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience a must. -MCSE/MCP/Security+/A+ certifications desired, possessing a widely recognized IT certification is required. -Understanding of ITIL or MOF desired. -3+ Years in MS Server System Administration. -1+ years of desktop support.
